Fukui Prefecture, Two New COVID-19 Infections

November 16th Report, Tsuruga City Man and Osaka Prefecture Man

On November 16th, Fukui Prefecture reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, of a male company employee from Osaka Prefecture (in his 30s), and a male security officer from Tsuruga City (in his 60s). The prefecture now has a cumulative total of 274 COVID-19 cases.

The Tsuruga City man (60s) is employed as a security officer at the Mihama Nuclear Power Plant. On November 15th, as a close contact of a COVID-19 patient outside Fukui Prefecture, a biological sample was taken and tested positive in a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test. He subsequently entered hospitalization in a medical institution designated for infectious diseases. He has spent some time within Shiga Prefecture on November 11th. He is currently asymptomatic, and has six close contacts, of two family members within the same residence, and four relatives living separately.

The Osaka Prefecture man (30s) experienced a fever of 37.7°C and fatigue on November 12th. The man was in Osaka Prefecture until the 14th. On the 15th, he went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. PCR test results on the 16th showed positive for COVID-19. He currently has two confirmed close contacts, of relatives living in a different residence.

November 14th Report, 8th Consecutive Day of COVID-19 Infections

On November 14th, Fukui Prefecture reported that a Fukui City female company employee in her 20s has been infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The prefecture currently has a cumulative total of 272 COVID-19 cases.

On November 9th, the Fukui City female company employee (20s) experienced coughing. On the 13th, she visited a medical institution for an examination and to have a biological sample taken; PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test results showed positive for COVID-19, and the woman subsequently entered hospitalization at a medical institution designated for infectious diseases. She had spent some time within Osaka Prefecture from November 6th to 10th.

November 12th Report

On November 12th, Fukui Prefecture reported that a Fukui City independent businessman (40s) has been infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Fukui City man (40s) experienced a fever of 38⁰C and sore throat on November 10th. On the 11th, he went to a medical institution for an examination and to have a biological sample taken, which showed positive for COVID-19 through a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test. On the 12th, he entered hospitalization at a medical institution designated for infectious diseases. From November 3rd to 4th, he had spent some time within Osaka Prefecture. He has four close contacts, of two family members living in the same residence, and two colleagues.

Fukui Prefecture now has a cumulative total of 269 COVID-19 cases.

November 8th Report

On November 8th, Fukui Prefecture reported its 259th case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, of a Tsuruga City self-employed businessman in his 50s.

On November 1st, the man experienced fatigue throughout his body. On the 6th, he got a fever of 37.8⁰C, in addition to fatigue and an impaired sense of taste. On the 7th, he visited a medical institution to have a biological sample taken; antigen test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has entered a medical institution designated for infectious diseases for hospitalization.

During October 24th and 25th, the man had spent sometime within Osaka Prefecture. He has four close contacts, one of whom is a family member living within the same residence.

On October 9th, Fukui Prefecture reported that a Sabae City male company employee in his 40s has been infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). On October 6th, the man experienced discomfort in his throat, and then a fever of 37.5°C on the 7th; a biological sample was then taken on the 8th. He has spent some time within Osaka Prefecture during October 2nd to 4th. He has four close contacts, who are family members living within the same residence.
