Landslide Caution

At 10:55 a.m. on August 13th, the Fukui Local Meteorological Office announced a heavy rain warning & landslide caution across Fukui City, Sakai City, Eiheiji Town, Echizen Town, Sabae City, Ikeda Town, Tsuruga City, and Mihama Town.

The heavy rain warning in Awara City, and the heavy rain warning & landslide caution across Ono City, Katsuyama City, Echizen City, and Minamiechizen Town continue to remain active.

Going into August 14th, there is a forecast of a downpour of up to 40 millimeters within an hour, accompanied with lightning. Over a two-day period until the afternoon of the 14th, many areas within Fukui Prefecture could accumulate up to 200~300 millimeters of rainfall. The Fukui Local Meteorological Office is advised to exercise caution and remain alert for landslides, lower regions becoming submerged in water, rising water levels within rivers, and flooding.

On April 25th, Fukui Prefecture reported 6 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 849. As of this day, there are 178 active cases within the prefecture, of which 3 are in serious condition.
Brief details of the 6 cases are as follow.

The Tsuruga City female teacher (50s, #1) is connected with a COVID-19 cluster at a school within Tsuruga City, which was reported on April 21st.

The Sakai City male student (10s, #4) is a close contact of an Eiheiji Town male (10s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on April 24th.

The Mihama Town male company employee (50s, #5) is a close contact of a Mihama Town male (20s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on April 24th.

On April 21st, Fukui Prefecture reported 26 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 779 cases. 12 of the cases are of children from an elementary school within Tsuruga City. As of this day, there are 135 active cases within the prefecture, of which 1 is in serious condition.
Brief details of the 26 cases are as follow.

The Echizen City female part-time worker (50s, #2) is a close contact of an Echizen City male (80s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on April 13th.

The Sakai City unemployed male (70s, #4) and the Sakai City unemployed female (70s, #5) are close contacts of the Sakai City female nursing assistant (40s, #3).

The Tsuruga City unemployed female (70s, #6) and the Eiheiji Town unemployed male (70s, #7) are contacts of the Sakai City female nursing assistant (40s, #3).

The Ono City male company employee (50s, #8) is a close contact of an Ono City male (20s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on April 15th.

The Fukui City male company employee (40s, #9) is a close contact of a Fukui City male (40s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on April 15th.

The Fukui City self-employed male (40s, #10) is a close contact of a Fukui City male (60s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on April 17th.

The Fukui City male company employee (50s, #12) is a close contact of a Fukui City male (20s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on April 20th.

The 12 cases of Tsuruga City students, of boys and girls (aged 10s and younger, #15~#26), are close contacts of a Tsuruga City female (10s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on April 20th.
