Landslide Caution

At 10:55 a.m. on August 13th, the Fukui Local Meteorological Office announced a heavy rain warning & landslide caution across Fukui City, Sakai City, Eiheiji Town, Echizen Town, Sabae City, Ikeda Town, Tsuruga City, and Mihama Town.

The heavy rain warning in Awara City, and the heavy rain warning & landslide caution across Ono City, Katsuyama City, Echizen City, and Minamiechizen Town continue to remain active.

Going into August 14th, there is a forecast of a downpour of up to 40 millimeters within an hour, accompanied with lightning. Over a two-day period until the afternoon of the 14th, many areas within Fukui Prefecture could accumulate up to 200~300 millimeters of rainfall. The Fukui Local Meteorological Office is advised to exercise caution and remain alert for landslides, lower regions becoming submerged in water, rising water levels within rivers, and flooding.

On July 25th, Fukui Prefecture reported 27 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 1,472. There are currently 68 active cases within the prefecture. Seven of the 27 new cases are students of a Fukui City senior high school, and two are students of a Fukui City junior high school; in addition, six are Fukui City residents and another six are Sakai City residents. On June 18th, Fukui Prefecture reported 11 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 1,088. As of this day, there are 35 active cases within the prefecture.

The Fukui City male part-time worker (#4, 30s) is a close contact of the Eiheiji Town female part-time worker (#3, 20s).

The Fukui City unemployed female (#5, 20s), the Fukui City female company employee (#7, 20s), the Fukui City male company employee (#8, 20s), the Fukui City male (#9, 20s), and the Fukui City male student (#10, 20s) are close contacts of a Fukui City female (20s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on June 17th.

The Fukui City male company employee (#11, 70s) is a close contact of an Echizen City male (50s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on June 17th.

The Echizen City male company employee (50s, #2) is a close contact of an Echizen City female (50s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on May 22nd.

The Ono City unemployed female (40s, #3) is a close contact of an Ono City male (40s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on May 13th.
