Landslide Caution

At 10:55 a.m. on August 13th, the Fukui Local Meteorological Office announced a heavy rain warning & landslide caution across Fukui City, Sakai City, Eiheiji Town, Echizen Town, Sabae City, Ikeda Town, Tsuruga City, and Mihama Town.

The heavy rain warning in Awara City, and the heavy rain warning & landslide caution across Ono City, Katsuyama City, Echizen City, and Minamiechizen Town continue to remain active.

Going into August 14th, there is a forecast of a downpour of up to 40 millimeters within an hour, accompanied with lightning. Over a two-day period until the afternoon of the 14th, many areas within Fukui Prefecture could accumulate up to 200~300 millimeters of rainfall. The Fukui Local Meteorological Office is advised to exercise caution and remain alert for landslides, lower regions becoming submerged in water, rising water levels within rivers, and flooding.

Until August 24th, Food Establishments Requested to Shorten Business Hours Excluding Those Approved

On August 6th, responding to the rapid spread of COVID-19, Fukui Prefecture declared its fourth independent “State of Emergency” until the 24th. Excluding shops that have been approved for safety, the prefecture is requesting food establishments to shorten its business hours up to 8:00 p.m., during the period of August 11th through 24th.
