On May 17th, Fukui Prefecture reported 4 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 993. As of this day, there are 68 active cases within the prefecture.
Brief details of the 4 cases are as follow.

The Fukui City unemployed male (70s, #1) is a close contact of a Fukui City female (40s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on May 4th.

The Sakai City unemployed female (60s, #2) is a close contact of a COVID-19 patient from outside Fukui Prefecture.

The Obama City female company employee (50s, #3) is a contact of an Obama City female (50s) whose COVID-19 infection was reported on May 15th.

The Obama City unemployed male (60s, #4) is a close contact of the Obama City female company employee (50s, #3).
