Fukui Prefecture, 2 New COVID-19 Infections

March 29th Report, Cluster Outbreak at Nursing Home

On March 29th, Fukui Prefecture reported 3 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 573 cases; as of this day, there are 24 cases active within the prefecture. Each of the three new cases are connected with a nursing home within Fukui City, with all persons experiencing light symptoms.
Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Fukui City unemployed male, nursing home resident (80s)
On March 25th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 27th, he experienced a fever of 37.6⁰C and coughing. On the 28th, another biological sample was taken. On the 29th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Fukui City unemployed female, nursing home resident (80s)
On March 25th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 27th, she experienced a fever of 38.6⁰C. On the 28th, another biological sample was taken. On the 29th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[3] Fukui City unemployed female, nursing home resident (90s)
On March 25th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested negative for COVID-19 though a PCR test. On the 28th, she had a cough, and another biological sample was taken. On the 29th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
