Fukui Prefecture, 2 New COVID-19 Infections

March 28th Report

On March 28th, Fukui Prefecture reported 2 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 570 cases. As of today, there are 22 active COVID-19 cases within the prefecture.
Brief details of each case are as follow:

[1] Echizen City unemployed female (20s)
On March 26th, the woman had a fever and sore throat. On the 27th, she went to a medical institution for an examination, and had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Fukui City unemployed female (90s)
On March 25th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 26th, she experienced a fever of 37.2⁰C; another biological sample was taken. On the 27th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
