Fukui Prefecture, 2 New COVID-19 Infections

March 17th Report

On March 17th, Fukui Prefecture reported 2 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 549 COVID-19 cases. Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Fukui City male company employee (40s)
On March 16th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[2] Fukui City unemployed male (20s)
On March 16th, the man experienced a fever of 38⁰C, sore throat, and headache; he then went to a medical institution for an examination. On the 17th, he went to a medical institution for a re-examination, and to have a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

As of this day, Fukui Prefecture has 3 active COVID-19 cases.
