March 16th Report
On March 16th, Fukui Prefecture reported its 547th COVID-19 case, of a Fukui City male company employee in his 50s. On March 11th, the man had a runny nose and sore throat, and went to a medical institution for an examination. On the 15th, due to persistent symptoms, he visited a medical institution for a re-examination and to have a biological sample taken, which showed positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
Fukui Prefecture currently has a cumulative total of 547 COVID-19 cases, of which 3 cases are active as of this day.
