February 19th Report
On February 19th, Fukui Prefecture reported 5 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 542 cases.
Brief details of each case are as follows:
[1] Tsuruga City male company employee (40s)
On February 18th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which showed positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.
[2] Tsuruga City unemployed female (30s)
On February 14th, the woman experienced nasal inflammation. On the 15th, she went to a medical institution for an examination. On the 18th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which showed positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
[3] Tsuruga City boy (under 10)
On February 17th, the boy had a runny nose. On the 18th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which showed positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
[4] Tsuruga City girl (under 10)
On February 9th, the girl experienced a fever of 37.3⁰C and coughing. She went to a medical institution for an examination. On the 18th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken. On the 19th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
[5] Tsuruga City female nursery school teacher (30s)
On February 9th, the woman had a runny nose and sore throat. She went to a medical institution for an examination. On the 17th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken. On the 19th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
