Fukui Prefecture, 4 New COVID-19 Infections

February 17th Report

On February 17th, Fukui Prefecture reported 4 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 535 cases.
Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Tsuruga City male pharmacist (50s)
On February 8th, the man experienced chills. On the 16th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which showed positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Tsuruga City female nursery school teacher (20s)
On February 16th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample, which showed positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[3] Tsuruga City female childcare worker (20s)
On February 1th, the woman had a cough and sore throat. On the 16th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[4] Tsuruga City female student (10s)
On February 9th, the student had a sore throat. On the 16th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
