Fukui Prefecture, 2 New COVID-19 Infections & 1 Death

February 6th Report

On February 6th, Fukui Prefecture reported 2 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the cumulative total to 521 cases, as well as 1 COVID-19 related death of a woman in her 80s.
Brief details of the two new cases are as follow:

[1] Fukui City male student (10s)
On February 3rd, a biological sample was taken at a private testing centre. On the 4th, test results called for a retest to be taken at a medical institution. On the 5th, another biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He is currently asymptomatic, and had been in Tokyo from January 30th until February 3rd.

[2] Fukui City male company employee (30s)
On January 27th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which had tested negative for COVID-19. On February 4th, he experienced fatigue and had a runny nose. On the 5th, another biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
