Fukui Prefecture, 3 New COVID-19 Infections & 1 Death

February 1st Report

On February 1st, Fukui Prefecture reported 3 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 517 cases, as well as 1 COVID-19 related death.
Brief details of the 2 cases are as follow:

[1] Katsuyama City female company employee (20s)
On January 26th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 30th, she had a runny nose. On the 31st, another biological sample was taken. On February 1st, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Sakai City female nursing home employee (30s)
On both January 14th and 28th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which had tested negative for COVID-19 through PCR tests. On the 30th, she experienced a fever of 38.8⁰C. On the 31st, a biological sample was taken. On February 1st, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[3] Obama City male company employee (50s)
On January 26th, the man experienced a fever and chills. On the 27th, he went to a medical institution for an examination. On the 28th, he had a fever of 38.1⁰C. On the 31st, a biological sample was taken. On the 31st, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
