Fukui Prefecture, 1 New COVID-19 Infection

February 27th Report

On February 27th, Fukui Prefecture reported 1 new COVID-19 infection of a Fukui City male company employee in his 40s. On the 24th, the man had congestion and a sore throat. On the 25th, he experienced a fever of 38.3⁰C, and went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. A PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

Fukui Prefecture currently has a cumulative total of 545 COVID-19 cases. As of this day, there are 5 active COVID-19 cases within the prefecture.

On February 24th, Fukui Prefecture reported 2 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 544 cases.

On February 21st, the man experienced a fever of 38.1⁰C. On the 22nd, symptoms persisted, and he went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. On the 23rd, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

On February 23rd, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

Fukui Prefecture Commences Vaccinations, First Day With 30 Inoculations

Fukui Katsuyama General Hospital Health Care Providers, COVID-19

On February 19th, the initial round of COVID-19 vaccinations have begun at the Fukui Katsuyama General Hospital (in Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture) for health care providers. On this first day, 30 people have received the vaccination, with roughly 80 people per day to receive vaccinations from the 22nd. Vaccinations for 431 health care providers, who have consented to the vaccinations, are expected to be completed by mid-March, with each person receiving two doses.
