Fukui Prefecture, 4 New COVID-19 Infections

January 31st Report

On January 31st, Fukui Prefecture reported 4 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 514 cases.
Brief details of each case are as follow:

[1] Fukui City male company employee (60s)
On January 21st, the man experienced coughing and fatigue. On the 29th, he had a fever of 38°C. On the 30th, he went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken; a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. During the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms, he had been in Gifu Prefecture.

[2] Fukui City female association employee (50s)
On January 25th, the woman had a sore throat. On the 30th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[3] Fukui City female (20s)
On January 26th, the woman experienced fatigue and joint pain. On the 30th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[4] Fukui City male (under 10)
On January 30th, as a close contact, the boy had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.
