Fukui Prefecture, 3 New COVID-19 Infections & 2 Deaths

January 29th Report

On January 29th, Fukui Prefecture reported 3 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 509 cases, as well as 2 COVID related deaths, of a Fukui City man in his 30s and a Fukui City woman in her 50s.
Brief details of the 3 new infections are as follow:

[1] Fukui City male nurse (30s)
On January 24th, the man experienced coughing, headache, and fatigue throughout his whole body. On the 28th, he had an examination at a medical institution, and a biological sample was taken; a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Fukui City female nurse (50s)
On January 15th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which showed negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 28th, she experienced fatigue and a loss of appetite, and had another biological sample taken. On the 29th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[3] Sakai City female nurse (50s)
On both January 15th and 19th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which showed negative for COVID-19 through PCR tests. On the 28th, she experienced a fever of 37.3°C and fatigue, and had another biological sample taken. On the 29th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
