Fukui Prefecture, 2 New COVID-19 Infections & 1 Death

January 28th Report

On January 28th, Fukui Prefecture reported 2 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 506, as well as 1 COVID-19 related death of a woman in her 80s.
Brief details of each of the 2 new cases are as follow:

[1] Sabae City unemployed male (80s)
On January 25th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which had tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 27th, he experienced a fever of 37⁰C and a runny nose; he had another biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Sabae City female hospital employee (40s)
On January 25th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which had tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 27th, she experienced a fever of 37.8⁰C, coughing, headache, fatigue, and joint pain; she had another biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
