Fukui Prefecture 8 New COVID-19 Infections & 1 Death

January 27th Report

On January 27th, Fukui Prefecture reported 8 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 504 cases, as well as 1 COVID-19 related death of a man in his 80s.
Brief details on each of the 8 cases are as follow:

[1] Echizen City male hospital employee (20s)
On January 25th, the man experienced a fever of 37.8⁰C and fatigue. On the 26th, he had a biological sample taken at a medical institution, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Takahama Town male company employee (20s)
On January 14th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which had tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 25th, he experienced a fever of 37.1⁰C. On the 26th, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[3] Takahama Town girl (under 10)
On January 14th, as a close contact, the girl had a biological sample taken, which had tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 26th, as a close contact, another biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[4] Eiheiji Town female hospital employee (40s)
On January 23rd, the woman had a cough. On the 25th, she experienced a fever of 37.9⁰C. On the 26th, a biological sample was taken at a medical institution, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[5] Fukui City female company employee (20s)
On January 26th, the woman experienced a fever of 37.6⁰C, headache, coughing, and vomiting. As a close contact, a biological sample was taken. On the 27th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[6] Takahama Town boy (under 10)
On both January 19th and 22nd, as a close contact, the boy had a biological sample taken, which had tested negative for COVID-19 through PCR tests. On the 26th, he experienced a fever of 37⁰C, a runny nose, coughing, with phlegm. On the 27th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[7] Takahama Town boy (under 10)
On both January 19th and 22nd, as a close contact, the boy had a biological sample taken, which had tested negative for COVID-19 through PCR tests. On the 26th, he experienced a fever of 37.1⁰C. On the 27th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[8] Fukui City male company employee (30s)
On January 25th, the man experienced fatigue and a headache. On the 27th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test.
