Fukui Prefecture, 4 New COVID-19 Infections

January 25th Report

On January 25th, Fukui Prefecture reported 4 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 484 cases.
Brief details of each case are as follow:

[1] Sakai City male nursing home employee (30s)
On January 14th and 20th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which tested negative for COVID-19 through PCR tests on both occasions. On the 24th, he had a sore throat and a cough, and had another biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Fukui City unemployed female (60s)
On January 24th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken. On the 25th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[3] Awara City male company employee (60s)
On January 19th, the man experienced a fever, coughing, and full body fatigue. On the 23rd, he went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have biological sample taken. On the 25th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. During the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms, he had been in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, and Toyama, Ishikawa, Shiga, Osaka, Hyogo, Gifu, Shizuoka, and Aichi prefectures.

[4] Awara City female company employee (50s)
On January 24th, the woman experienced a fever of 38⁰C. On the 25th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. Her recent travel history is currently under investigation.
