Fukui Prefecture, 4 New COVID-19 Infections

January 17th Report

On January 17th, Fukui Prefecture reported 4 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 447 cases.
Brief details of each case are as follow:

[1] Sakai City unemployed female (80s)
On January 12th, the woman experienced a fever of 39.1°C. On the 14th, she went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken, which tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 16th, she experienced a fever of 37.4°C, and went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Sakai City unemployed female (70s)
On January 16th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken. On the 17th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[3] Fukui City independent businesswoman (70s)
On January 16th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken. On the 17th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during that past two weeks.

[4] Fukui City female worker (60s)
On January 16th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken. On the 17th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.
