Snow-Laden Clouds Over Fukui Prefecture, Gradually Waning

January 10th Fukui Local Meteorological Office Report, Chance of Temporarily Growing Stronger

On January 10th, in a Disaster Countermeasure Headquarters meeting at 6:00 a.m. in the Fukui Prefectural Office, chief of the Fukui Local Meteorological Office, Tadaharu Nakamura, reported that over the period of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., most level ground areas within the Reihoku region will accumulate 15 centimetres of snow. He further explained that “there is a forecast for the snow-laden clouds (over the prefecture) to gradually disperse”.

At the same time, there is a forecast for more snow-laden clouds to enter the region at around 6:00 p.m. of January 10th, but expressed that “although there is a chance for the snowfall to temporarily increase again, it will slow down again during the late evening”.

Regarding the current heavy snowfall alert, “there is a chance for the alert to be changed after 9:00 a.m.”.
