Fukui Prefecture, 10 New COVID-19 Infections

January 9th Report

On January 9th, Fukui Prefecture reported 10 new COVID-19 infections, bringing its cumulative total to 397 cases. Two of the ten cases are residents from outside the prefecture.
Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Sakai City female student (20s)
On January 5th, the woman experienced a fever of 37.5°C and a sore throat. On the 7th, she visited a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. On the 8th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Osaka Prefecture male company employee (20s)
On January 7th, the man experienced a fever of 38.5°C, coughing, and fatigue. He later went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. On the 8th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has been staying in Sabae City since January 4th.

[3] Fukui City female company employee (50s)
On January 3rd, the woman experienced a fever of 37.7°C, runny nose, sore throat, and headache. On the 7th, she visited a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. On the 8th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[4] Hokkaido male company employee (20s)
On January 7th, the man experienced coughing, congestion, sore throat, headache, and fatigue. On the 8th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has been in Tsuruga City since January 5th.

[5] Sakai City female government worker (50s)
On January 8th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[6] Tsuruga City male student (10s)
On January 8th, as a close contact, the male had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[7] Tsuruga City female student (10s)
On January 8th, as a close contact, the female had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[8] Fukui City male government worker (50s)
On January 8th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[9] Fukui City female government worker (50s)
On January 8th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history fo travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[10] Fukui City independent businessman (40s)
On January 8th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.
