December 16th Report
On December 16th, Fukui Prefecture reported four new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, bringing its cumulative total to 337. Brief details of each case are as follows:
[1] Fukui City male student (20s)
On December 14th, the student experienced a fever of 39⁰C, coughing, and headache. On the 15th, he went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken; antigen test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
[2] Fukui City male student (20s)
On December 14th, the student experienced a fever of 38⁰C, coughing, and headache. On the 15th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
[3] Fukui City male instructor (40s)
On December 15th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken. PCR test results on the 16th showed positive for COVID-19. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.
[4] Fukui City male student (10s)
On December 15th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken. PCR test results on the 16th showed positive for COVID-19. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.
