Fukui Prefecture, 3 New COVID-19 Infections

December 9th Report

On December 9th, Fukui Prefecture reported 3 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, bringing the prefecture’s cumulative total of COVID-19 cases to 329. Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Fukui City female company employee (70s)
On December 7th, the woman experienced a fever of 38⁰C, coughing, and discomfort in her throat. On the 8th, she went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Tsuruga City female company employee (50s)
On December 8th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[3] Tsuruga City female company employee (30s)
On December 8th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.
