Fukui Prefecture, 4 New COVID-19 Infections

December 8th Report, Cases Across Fukui and Tsuruga Cities

On December 8th, Fukui Prefecture reported four new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, bringing the prefecture’s cumulative total of cases to 326. Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Tsuruga City female company employee (20s)
On December 7th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.

[2] Fukui City male company employee (40s)
On December 6th, the man experienced a fever of 37.5⁰C. On the 7th, he went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. Antigen test results showed positive for COVID-19. He had spent some time within Osaka Prefecture during December 4th.

[3] Fukui City male part-time worker (80s)
On December 4th, the man experienced a fever of 37.1⁰C. On the 7th, he went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. Antigen test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[4] Tsuruga City female company employee (40s)
On December 4th, the woman experienced a runny nose, sore throat, and a headache. On the 7th, she went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. Antigen test results showed positive for COVID-19. She had spent some time within Aichi Prefecture during November 24th.
