December 31st Report

On December 31st, Fukui Prefecture reported two new cases of COVID-19, both of men in their 30s from Tsuruga City, bringing its cumulative total to 355. Furthermore, one COVID-19 patient in his 80s has passed away.
Details of the two new COVID-19 cases are as follows:

[1] Tsuruga City male company employee (30s)
On December 30th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the recent two weeks.

[2] Tsuruga City male company employee (30s)
On December 30th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the recent two weeks.

Both of the men were close contacts of a COVID-19 case reported on December 29th, of an Obama City male company employee (30s).

December 30th Report

On December 30th, Fukui Prefecture reported 3 new COVID-19 infections in Tsuruga City, bringing its cumulative total to 353. Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Tsuruga City male company employee (30s)
On December 24th, the man experienced coughing and joint pain. On the 29th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken. On the 30th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Tsuruga City male company employee (20s)
On December 24th, the man experienced coughing, stuffy nose, and an impaired sense of taste and smell. On the 29th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken. On the 30th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[3] Tsuruga City male company employee (30s)
On December 29th, the man experienced a stuffy nose and sore throat, and had a biological sample taken as a close contact. On the 30th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

On December 29th, Fukui Prefecture reported two new cases of COVID-19, of a Obama City man in his 30s, and one man from outside the prefecture. Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Nagano Prefecture male company employee (30s)
On December 27th, the man experienced joint pain. On the 28th, he went to a medical institution for an examination, and had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 29th, he entered hospitalization at a medical institution within Nagano Prefecture. During the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms, he had stayed in Tsuruga City. He was in Shiga Prefecture during the 26th and 27th.

[2] Obama City male company employee (30s)
On December 24th, as a close contact, he had a biological sample taken, which tested negative for COVID-19 through a PCR test. On the 27th, he experienced a fever of 37°C. On the 28th, he went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken, which tested positive for the virus through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

Fukui Prefecture has a cumulative total of 350 COVID-19 cases.

On December 28th, Fukui Prefecture reported two new COVID-19 infections, of a Tsuruga City man and woman, bringing its cumulative total of cases to 348. Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Tsuruga City male company employee (30s)
On December 26th, the man experienced a fever of 37°C, coughing, runny nose, and fatigue. On the 27th, as a close contact, a biological sample was taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Tsuruga City female company employee (40s)
On December 27th, as close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test. She is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the recent two weeks.

On December 27th, Fukui Prefecture reported its 346th case of COVID-19, of a Tsuruga City male company employee in his 30s.

On December 23rd, the man had a sore throat, followed by a fever of 39.3°C and fatigue during the next day. On the 25th, he went to a medical institution for an examination and to have a biological sample taken. On the 26th, a PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. He had spent some time in Kyoto Prefecture during December 10th, 11th, 16th, and 22nd.
