Fukui Prefecture, 2 New COVID-19 Infections

November 30th Report, Fukui and Sakai cities

On November 30th, Fukui Prefecture reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, of a Fukui City man and Sakai City woman, bringing the prefecture’s cumulative total of cases to 316. Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Fukui City male company employee (60s)
On November 18th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken, which tested negative for COVID-19. On the 27th, he experienced a fever of 37.2⁰C, and coughing. On the 28th, he went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. On the 29th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Sakai City female part-time worker (40s)
On November 26th, as a close contact, the woman had a biological sample taken, which tested negative for COVID-19. On the 28th, she experienced coughing, sore throat, and fatigue. On the 29th, she went to a medical institution for an examination, and to have a biological sample taken. On the 30th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
