Two New COVID-19 Infections Between Fukui City and Echizen Town

November 28th Report

On November 28th, Fukui Prefecture reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, of one man in Fukui City and one man in Echizen Town, bringing the prefecture’s cumulative total to 314. Brief details of each case are as follows:

[1] Fukui City male part-time worker (70s)
On November 25th, the man experienced chills. On the 26th, he got a fever of 37.5⁰C. On the 27th, he went to a medical institution for an examination and to have a biological sample taken; PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[2] Echizen Town unemployed male (80s)
On November 26th, as a close contact, the man had a biological sample taken. On the 27th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. He is currently asymptomatic, and has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the past two weeks.
