Canadian Gives Presentation on Environmental Issues

A Canadian ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) working at a Fukui City junior high school gave a public lecture, surrounding the theme of environmental issues and the initiatives in Canada.

An audience of ten, of both children and adults, attended this lecture, which was held at Happirin (located within the Fukui Ekimae area); the lecture was hosted by Fukui City, to have foreigners residing within the city present the initiatives made within their respective countries, towards environmental issues.

On October 11th, Michael Kuziw, an ALT from Canada working at a Fukui City junior high school, gave a presentation on Canada’s environmental initiatives, while mixing in interactive elements like a quiz.

Mr. Kuziw covered topics including compulsory school programs regarding climate change, and the possibility of banning the use of disposable plastics as early as next year.

“We’re living in a time where we’re being impacted by global issues, and hopefully pass that message along to other people, especially the young generation,” expressed Mr. Kuziw, the lecturer of the day.

Fukui City will continue to hold public lectures presented by foreigners, revolving around the theme of environmental issues.
