Married Couple From Tsuruga City Infected With COVID-19, Travel History in Osaka and Gifu

October 6th Report, Woman With Travel History in Gifu

On October 6th, Fukui Prefecture reported that a Tsuruga City man and woman in their 40s were infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. The two are a married couple, both with light symptoms. The man experienced a fever on September 30th, which subsided on October 2nd; the fever then re-emerged on the 4th. A biological sample was taken on October 5th, which tested positive for COVID-19 on the 6th. The man had spent some time within Osaka Prefecture during September 25th and 26th, and some time within Gifu Prefecture during the 27th.

The woman experienced a fever on October 3rd, and tested positive for COVID-1 on the 6th. The woman had spent some time in Gifu Prefecture on September 27th.

Since September 8th, there had been no new COVID-19 cases within Fukui Prefecture for 27 consecutive days. The prefecture now has a cumulative total of 246 COVID-19 cases.
