New Daily High, 16 New COVID-19 Infections in Fukui Prefecture

August 28th Report, 15 People Has Some Connection With a Karaoke Lounge

On August 28th, Fukui Prefecture reported 16 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, across Echizen City, Echizen Town, and Fukui City, of men and women with ages ranging from their 30s to 80s. The cumulative total of COVID-19 cases within the prefecture has risen to 206.

Of the 16 cases, 15 people have a connection with a karaoke lounge in Fukui City or Echizen Town; 10 have either visited a karaoke lounge, or is an employee, while 5 are close contacts with someone who has used the establishment.

Across all 16 cases, no one has a history of travel outside Fukui Prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.
