6 New COVID-19 Infections, Patients’ Ages Ranging in 30s to 80s

Fukui Prefecture, August 26th COVID-19 Report

On August 26th, Fukui Prefecture reported 6 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. Details of each case are as follows:

[1] A female company employee in her 30s (Sabae City). On August 11th, the woman had spent some time in Ishikawa Prefecture. She had felt discomfort in her throat on the 18th, and tested positive for COVID-19 on the 25th.

[2] An unemployed male in his 30s (Fukui City). On August 24th, the man experienced a fever of 39.3⁰C, and fatigue, and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 through a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on the 25th. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[3] An unemployed male in his 80s (Fukui City). The man experienced coughing on August 18th. On the 25th, he went to get tested at an outpatient facility, which showed positive for the virus. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[4] An unemployed male in his 80s (Fukui City). The man is a close contact of the previously mentioned Fukui City unemployed male in his 30s [2]. He experienced coughing on August 24th, and went to receive a medical examination on the 25th; on the 26th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. He has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[5] An unemployed female in her 80s (Fukui City). The woman is a close contact of the previously mentioned Fukui City unemployed male in his 30s [2]. She experienced coughing on August 24th, and went to receive a medical examination on the 25th; on the 26th, PCR test results showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

[6] An unemployed female in her 70s (Fukui City). The woman is currently asymptomatic, and a close contact of the previously mentioned Fukui City unemployed male in his 80s [3]. The woman went to get examined at an outpatient facility on August 25th; on the 26th, the results of the PCR test showed positive for COVID-19. She has no history of travel outside the prefecture during past two weeks.
