COVID-19 Case of Fukui City Man, Time Spent in Tokyo

In Tokyo from June 29th to July 9th, Male Company Executive

Within Fukui Prefecture, by July 12th, there has been confirmation of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection of a Fukui City male company executive in his 30s. The man had stayed in Tokyo from June 29th until July 9th.

The Fukui City man had close contact with two family members, living in the same household. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests are being arranged. Whether there has been any other close contacts is currently being investigated by the Fukui City Health Care Centre.

Referring to the newly confirmed COVID-19 case within the prefecture, Fukui Prefectural Governor Tatsuji Sugimoto released a statement, “Regarding travel to areas with numerous cases of COVID-19, such as the Tokyo area, we wish for all to exercise careful deliberation before doing so; an in cases where travel is involved, to the best of your abilities, we ask to avoid establishments that may carry the risk of generating an infection cluster.”
