From May 21st, Following the Lifting of Fukui Prefecture’s Business Suspension Request
On May 12th, Sogo-SEIBU announced that it will be resuming operations for the whole SEIBU Fukui shopping centre (in Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture); excluding its grocery and food areas, SEIBU Fukui has been closed as a response to the continuous spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). SEIBU Fukui’s business hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In hand with the declaration of state of emergency across all prefectures due to COVID-19, SEIBU Fukui had closed down its main building and annex, excluding the basement level food and grocery areas, from April 18th. Because of Fukui Prefecture’s request to suspend operations for business establishments until May 20th, the 21st was decided to be the reopening day.
In order to secure the customers’ and staff’s safety and peace of mind, measures to be taken will include:
- Periodic disinfection of the shopping centre interior, and set-up of sanitizing stations
- Measuring staff’s temperatures using thermography at the staff entrance
- Setting up plastic sheets at cash registers to prevent infection through respiratory droplets
- Staff wearing face shields in some parts of the shopping centre
