Fukui Prefectural Schools to Reopen from June 1st

Elementary and Junior High Schools to Receive Request for Same Reopening Period

On May 15th, regarding the ongoing closures for Fukui Prefectural schools, Fukui Prefecture made a decision to reopen the schools from June 1st, after the effectiveness of exercising self-restraint from outings during the Golden Week holidays is confirmed. The prefecture also stated that it will be possible to increase the amount of days students can attend school to 2-3 times a week from May 18th.

Concerning the municipal education boards, which oversee the elementary and junior high schools, a request will be made to resume classes from June 1st. The decisions were made during Fukui Prefecture’s Novel Coronavirus Response Headquarters Conference, held on May 15th.
