Fukui Prefecture to Extend Request for Business Suspension

May 5th, Small-Scale Establishments Requested Until the 10th

On May 5th, in response to the extension of the declaration of a state of emergency by the Japan government, as a measure against the continuous spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Fukui Prefecture has decided to extend the request to suspend business within the prefecture until May 20th, while relatively small-scale businesses, such as cram schools, are to suspend operations until the 10th, in regards to the request already in place for roughly 100 industries until May 6th. Establishments like restaurants will also be requested to reduce or change their business hours until the 10th.

As for residents within Fukui Prefecture, there is a request to refrain from non-essential outings throughout the whole day until May 10th; from the 11th, the request will be eased to only weekday evenings and weekends.
