Fukui Prefectural Office Receives Telephone Bomb Threat, Staff Evacuated

Fukui Prefectural Police, Entranceways Blocked and Searching for Suspicious Object

During the afternoon of May 2nd, the Fukui Prefectural Office (in Fukui City) received a telephone bomb threat. At around 3:00 p.m. of the same day, an announcement was broadcast throughout the prefectural office, “The Fukui Prefectural Office has received a telephone bomb threat; out of caution, please evacuate the building”; the staff then evacuated to the nearby Fukui City Central Park. The Fukui Prefectural Police (Fukui Police Station) blockaded the entranceways leading into the prefectural office, and has been searching for a suspicious object.
