Upon Re-submission of Request by the Prefecture, 5 Parlours Closed

Five pachinko parlours within Fukui Prefecture, which had been operating against the prefecture’s request to suspend business, based on the Novel Coronavirus Special Measures Act, have closed by May 1st. With this all the 66 pachinko parlours across the prefecture have suspended operations.

On April 23rd, Fukui Prefecture had announced a request for roughly 100 industries to suspend business from April 25th to May 6th. On April 28th, investigations confirmed five pachinko parlours still operating; each establishment then received a document restating the request to suspend operations. From April 30th, the parlours have closed for business.
