Eighth COVID-19 Related Death Within Fukui Prefecture, of Fukui City Woman

April 30 Report, No New COVID-19 Infections

On April 30th, Fukui Prefecture reported its 8th novel coronavirus (COVID-19) related death, of a Fukui City unemployed woman in her 80s; the woman was the prefecture’s 81st COVID-19 case, and had passed away due to pneumonia, as a symptom of the virus.

The woman was a patient at the Fukushima Urology Clinic, located in Fukui City, where multiple physicians and patients had been confirmed with COVID-19. On April 5th, she experienced a fever of 37.4⁰C, but temporarily saw an improvement in condition. As a close contact of a clinic staff who had been infected with COVID-19, the woman was tested on April 9th, and was confirmed positive for the virus. The woman was equipped with an oxygen mask from April 28th. She had no record of travel outside the prefecture during the two-week period prior to the onset of symptoms.

As of noon on April 30th, there have been no new COVID-19 infections within Fukui Prefecture.
