Fukui Prefecture, PCR Testing for Pregnant Women

From April 24th, Reducing the Risk of Infection Between Mother and Child

On April 22nd, Fukui Prefecture announced that it will be carrying out polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests for pregnant women, for detecting the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The expected start date for testing is April 24th. The objective is to reduce the transmission risk between the mother and child during childbirth and breastfeeding, as well as between the health care provider. The tests will be catered towards pregnant women who are experiencing clear symptoms, and are deemed to require an attending physician.
