Fukui City to Provide ¥10,000 for Every Child, Junior High School Age and Lower

Novel Coronavirus, Measure to Support Families Raising Children

On April 20th, a measure was disclosed for Fukui City (in Fukui Prefecture) to provide ¥10,000 to parents and guardians, for every child at a junior high school age and lower, as part of the response against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. The measure is to provide economic support to families raising children, during a time where burden has increased, in part, as an effect from the school closures. Fukui City will take the current fiscal year’s supplementary budget to be processed by the municipal government body, and is also looking to provide financial support during the period right after Golden Week. The cost is expected to reach ¥400 million.
