Fukui Prefecture, 15.7 Average Number of Days in Hospital Care
On April 19th, Fukui Prefecture reported that the average incubation period for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is “5.2 days”. Taking 56 of 101 COVID-19 cases within the prefecture, where the day of exposure to the virus could be determined, a calculation was made. Furthermore, looking at 26 cases where COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital, the average amount of time patients spend in the hospital is “15.7 days”, with the shortest length at 7 days, and the longest at 22 days.
