Few Pedestrians within the Fukui Station Area
With the “Declaration of a State of Emergency” being applied across the country, due to the continuous spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), on April 18th, Japan has entered its first weekend since its announcement. Within Central Fukui City, many shops are closed, businesses have reduced their hours, and only a few shoppers and pedestrians are about. The city is quiet.
“It is quite lonely at work. After I finish work, I will just go shopping for some essentials and go straight home,” said a woman working in a store.
From April 18th, excluding its grocery section, SEIBU Fukui has closed its stores for the time being.
