Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, to be Closed Throughout Golden Week

Fukui Prefectural Facility, Closed Until May 6th In Response to COVID-19

On April 10th, the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, which was scheduled to be temporarily closed until April 19th in response to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), announced that it has extended its closure to May 6th, in line with the Government of Japan’s declaration of a state of emergency.

The Dinosaur Quarry (an outdoor museum attraction), which was scheduled to open from April 23rd of this year, will also be temporarily closed until May 6th. The museum has stopped accepting tour reservations until that day. Approximately 1,500 customers who had already made reservations have been notified of the suspension through email.

Up to this point, Fukui Prefecture had announced the closure of 45 prefectural facilities, including the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, until April 19th. But with many visitors from the areas which have been declared in a state of emergency by the government, the museum announced an extension of its closure, independent form the other prefectural facilities. Fukui Prefecture will bring the other prefectural facilities under discussion, based on how the COVID-19 situation continues from this point onward.
