Two COVID-19 Cases Connected with Fukui City Clinic

April 9th, Five New COVID-19 Cases

On April 9th, Fukui Prefecture reported the confirmation of 5 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 77. According to the prefecture, two of the cases are connected to a Fukui City clinic, whose director was confirmed with the virus on April 8th.

Brief details of the 73rd through to the 77th cases are as follows:

[73] Fukui City male nurse, in his 60s

[74] Fukui City male company employee, in his 20s

[75] Fukui City female company employee, in her 30s

[76] Fukui City male company employee, in his 60s

[77] Fukui City unemployed male, in his 60s

The Fukui City male nurse [73] works in the same clinic whose director had been confirmed with the virus; the Fukui City unemployed male [77] was a patient at the clinic. Including the director, staff, and patient, there are a total of 4 people with COVID-19, connected to the clinic.

In all five cases, each person has had some or close interactions with someone who had been confirmed with COVID-19.
