First Case of Novel Coronavirus in Fukui Prefecture’s Sabae City

Female Restaurant Employee in Her Forties, 13th Case Within the Prefecture

On March 29th, Fukui Prefecture reported the confirmation of a new case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, of a female restaurant employee in her forties, from Sabae City. The woman came in close contact with the man (in his fifties, from Fukui City) who was the prefecture’s first confirmed COVID-19 case, as was announced on March 18th. This is the 13th case of COVID-19 within Fukui Prefecture.

Hakusan City Aeon Mall, 220 Specialty Shops

Construction Commences for 2021 Summer Opening

On March 25th, Aeon Mall announced that the “Aeon Mall Hakusan (temporary name)”, to be located in Ishikawa Prefecture’s Hakusan City, will begin construction on the 26th. The opening is scheduled for the summer of 2021. The mall will be three stories above ground, and have a sales area of approximately 73 thousand square metres; it will be ranked after “Aeon Mall Takaoka” (in Toyama Prefecture, Takaoka City) in terms of space, within the Hokuriku region.

The new mall is planned to hold about 220 specialty shops. From the heart of Kanazawa City, the mall will be located approximately seven kilometres southwest, and being close to the Hakusan Interchange along the Hokuriku Expressway, there are high expectations in attracting customers from both Toyama and Fukui.
