Drawing in Foreign Tourists to Ikeda. Crowdfunding Goal Update.

Next Goal: ¥1,000,000 Challenge

   Kyosuke Akimoto (aged 35), a native to Fukui Prefecture’s Ikeda town, had a crowdfunding project titled, “A Welcoming Environment for Foreign Visitors! We Want to Create a Guided Tour Website!”. On October 27th, the project reached it goal of ¥750,000. Akimoto then established the next goal of ¥1,000,000. The crowdfunding deadline is set at 11:00 a.m. on October 31st.
   The project’s goal is to launch a website to inform about and market tours in Ikeda town, to foreigners visiting Japan. The project collected a number of comments sympathetic to its cause:
   “I wish for many foreigners to experience Ikeda town’s magnificent nature.”
   “I am deeply impressed with the strong passions for the improvement of Ikeda.”
   “I truly appreciate so many people’s support and cooperation”, responded Akimoto with gratitude. Additional funding will be allocated to various expenses, such as the creation of manuals for guide staff, and the cost of tablet computer terminals.
   Through Fukui Prefecture’s “Generation of New Services to Benefit the Locality Tax Assistance Program”, the crowdfunding project also received support from Fukui Bank and the Fukui Shimbun company. Contributions of up to
